As a colocation specialist with an ecosystem of highly specialized partners for connectivity, cloud & hosting, and even installation and relocation management, we know what it means to bundle expertise. It means being able to deliver the best solution at all times and never facing challenges alone.

We operate data centers at a total of four locations in Germany, with excellent connectivity and cloud connections –
independent of investors and corporations.
For our customers, this means that their data, processes, and data center services are located in the heart of Munich and the world. Upon request, we can provide a high revision interval (approx. 400 km away).

- Expansion of a new fourth construction phase at the MUC I data center campus (BA4)

- EMC becomes an IHK training company
- EMC HostCo becomes EMC Home of Data
2021
- Certification according to CSR 26001 (Corporate Social Responsibility) and DIN EN ISO 50001 (Energy Management)
- Joining the European Climate Neutral Data Center Pact
- Launch of the CSR campaign “Racks4Roots”
2020
- Commissioning of Fujitsu Technology Solutions GmbH: Data center and staging areas
2019
- Expansion of the data center campus to become the third DE-CIX Enabled Site in Munich.
- EMC HostCo has been classified as “bankable” by the Bundesbank for the third time in a row.
2018
- Third expansion of the in-house campus by an additional 1,000 m² of data center space.
- Activation of an additional backup data center location in Munich South.
- Certification according to DIN ISO 9001 and DIN EN 50600.
2017
- Activation of our backup data center partner in Mutterstadt.
- EMC HostCo is classified as “ bankable” by the Deutsche Bundesbank
2016
- Commissioning of a separate Munich metro ring connecting the two other Munich hubs.
2014
- Commissioning of two additional customer private data centers.
2013
- Expansion of data center space to the MUC I data center campus.
2012
- Reorganization of shareholder structure - SpaceNet AG transfers its shares back.
Gunter Hahn and Peter Köberle join as shareholders. - Certification according to DIN ISO 27001.
2007
- Thanks to strategic reorientation and expansion of the shareholder structure, the Munich I data center will go into operation as a carrier-neutral colocation data center.
- Gunter Hahn joins the company as technical managing director.
2005
- Founded by Bernhard Huter and Burkhard Kusterer as a marketing service provider for data center space in Germany, EMC HostCo will shift its focus to data center operation in the coming years.
