We are delighted to see our founder and Managing Director, Bernhard Huter, take on a new role: he has been elected President of Di4 e.V.
The non-profit association brings together stakeholders from Digital Infrastructure, Investment, Innovation & Industry and promotes the exchange of information and experience across the sector. With Bernhard, Di4
is now chaired by an entrepreneur who operates digital infrastructure himself and who also understands the requirements of investment and business development from practical experience. His election also marks a new thematic emphasis for Di4: alongside fibre expansion, which has shaped the association since its foundation, data centres, internet exchanges and sovereign digital infrastructure will move more strongly into focus.
One important area is the exchange between digital infrastructure operators and investors.
“Our strength has always been bringing the right people together,” says Dr Nico Grove, Vice President of Di4. “With Bernhard Huter, we are gaining a President who knows both sides from his own entrepreneurial experience – and who represents a field in which a great deal is set to happen in the years ahead.”
In his new role, Bernhard wants to further strengthen this exchange and help ensure that good ideas, experience, capital and entrepreneurial perspectives come together earlier. He also believes that young, innovative companies should be more closely integrated into the exchange with established market participants, investors and experienced entrepreneurs, and receive targeted support. This is a personal commitment that Bernhard Huter also pursues beyond his work with Di4.
“The digital infrastructure market in Germany is far from fully developed,” says Bernhard Huter. “What is often missing is not the idea, but timely contact between operators and capital providers. As entrepreneurs, we should not only work behind the scenes within our own companies. I want to help turn encounters into projects.”
We warmly congratulate Bernhard on his new role and look forward to following the further development of Di4.
More information about the election and Di4 can be found in the full press release.
