Press: Megaport becomes part of MuCon-X

Munich, June 4, 2025 – Following structural changes in the infrastructure sector, there continues to be movement within the industry. With the internationally leading Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) provider Megaport as a new partner, MuCon-X – operated by EMC Home of Data – is strengthening its role as the new central connectivity hub in Munich for the DACH region. Megaport's software-controlled platform will give companies at MuCon-X direct access to the world's leading cloud providers – away from the public internet and individually controllable. The connection is scheduled to go live in the summer.

Megaport brings global reach on demand to MuCon-X

With the integration of Megaport, MuCon-X gains direct access to leading cloud providers—including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud, and IBM Cloud—as well as hundreds of managed service providers and more than 950 enabled locations in 26 countries worldwide. Megaport's Network-as-a-Service (NaaS) technology allows IT departments to plan, book, and dynamically adjust virtual connections via a software-based platform.

Megaport is thus expanding the MuCon-X ecosystem with flexible and private on-demand cloud connections – a logical addition to the powerful peering infrastructure and carrier diversity from national and international providers on site.

New partnership completes connectivity concept at MuCon-X

By providing virtual cross connects (VXCs)—private, software-based direct connections between companies, cloud platforms, and data centers—Megaport enables flexible network configuration with just a few clicks. Megaport's offering also includes cloud-to-cloud connectivity, data center networking, and access to all leading hyperscalers around the globe – ideal for multi-cloud and hybrid cloud strategies.

At the EMC Home of Data location – and home of MuCon-X – the full spectrum of modern and global connectivity can be mapped. For companies, this means security and flexibility in the implementation of their IT strategy: whether in close cooperation with regional partners or via direct connections to global cloud platforms.

With the help of Virtual Cross Connects (VXCs), private network connections can be set up in real time via Megaport – without costly infrastructure projects and without detours via the public internet.
