3 steps to the “Home of Data”

A data center is what you make of it: The first step is to select the basic configuration for your data center from 3 colocation options: Rack-Housing, Cage & CloudCage or Private Datacenter (PDC).

In the second step, select a variant of the Home of Data Model, because your data center is capable of much more: How would you like to equip your setup, what data connection and availability do you need, what redundant structures and what spatial conditions are required in terms of access, air conditioning, fire protection, and extinguishing systems?

In the third step, we combine the selected colocation and home of data model variants, thus laying the foundation for your individual “home of data,” on which we build your future-proof IT environment.

Home of Data Model

Housing Basic

You outsource your IT for production or backup services to the DC campus MUC I. EMC Home of Data provides you with data connectivity, power and climate control, as well as access protection and monitoring in accordance with the SLA.

Housing Redundant Connect

You connect your IT redundantly via several carriers set up in separate areas. Various carriers and DE-CIX provide you with a wide range of connection options in terms of price and performance. Cross connects to partners, carriers, and DE-CIX are implemented cost-effectively by EMC Home of Data, usually within 24 hours.

Campus Redundant

You distribute your (redundantly) connected IT across several supply areas (C-D) of the data center. Thanks to physically separate power, climate control, and fire suppression systems, a failure in supply area C is not expected to cause a failure in area D. This is an important prerequisite for operating your systems in the data center with an availability of > 99.995%.

Campus Open Sky

Campus Backup & Disaster Recovery

Either in the City Backup Data Center, located more than three times the distance away in southeast Munich. Or in the Disaster Recovery Data Center, located more than 200 km away from the MUC I data center.

Colocation variant 1: Rack housing

The easiest way to house your systems in our data center is rack housing:

We provide lockable 19" server racks for operating your servers or your managed private cloud. In a biometrically secured, video-monitored colocation area. With carrier- and cloud-neutral connection options.

Our Cage & CloudCage models are recommended for increased security requirements.

They offer all the features of our colocation solution, but with an enclosure (fence or wall) that meets specific security criteria. Ideal for cloud providers, business continuity applications, or classic IT outsourcing projects with the highest requirements for availability and security.
